Hey Mark!
I was so tickled to see the note from Joe of North Carolina in this months issue of Quilter's Home, and especially happy to see the picture of his wife's quilts.
I, too, embroidered that quilt exactly 30 years ago -- only I did a queen sized quilt. My husband purchased it for my 30th birthday! (I didn't have it completely finished until I was 42!).
Anyway, I wanted to let him know that the name of the quilt is Americana Sampler. It came in two different color ways, and I had the same colors as his wife. I hope he follows your advice and either has it on a bed (actually, looks like he has two of them in the picture!), or at least has it where he can see it and enjoy it! This quilt took a LOT of stitching -- first in the embroidery, and then in the quilting, and his wife must have loved working on it.!
Thanks for displaying that particular e-mail!

I was very pleased when visiting a friend in Atlanta GA. for several weeks in August 2006. She purchased the second issue of a quilt magazine I had not seen before. Usually I skim through them at first to see the quilts.
What a surprise to find myself actually reading the magazine front to back the first evening. I enjoyed everything about Quilters Home magazine. What a pleasure to read more than just articles about fabric and color. Being a quilter who loves to piece by hand, I do hope you will strive to find quilters with knowledge in this field. There are still some of us "Purests" out here.

Hi Mark,
I am extremely interested in signing up for a year's (or more) subscription to Quilter's Home magazine. I just called Village Quilt Shoppe and they told me that there is no such thing. We need a good magazine about quilting and other crafty options, so please figure out how we can sign up. I would be honored to be among one of your inaugural subscribers. Also, I belong to a huge quilt guild and will pass along whatever information you can provide.
Thanks for listening...one of your avid quilting followers.

Just a note to tell you I was DRAWN to your magazine in the grocery store. I bought it and came home and read it from cover to cover! I NEVER do that and besides that I'm not even a quilter! I loved it...I am hooked and cannot wait to subscribe so I am telling everyone to buy your magazine.
I will volunteer to help you keep this going...need ideas? articles? Whatever, I am here.
I am a rug hooker actually. Wool rugs hooked the old-fashioned way and I comb Good Will and thrift stores for wool to cut up for my rugs. I have crosstitched, crocheted, knitted, sewn, decoupaged, refinished furniture....you name it, I have done it EXCEPT....I have not quilted but I have bought fat quarters, fabric, a rotary cutter and mat. Quilting is like the last frontier for me and I think you have just pushed me over the edge. I am free-falling and cannot wait to get started on my first project.
There...see...an article for your magazine...a virgin quilter....it could be a series! Anyway, I love your sense of humor, your UFO's which cross all boundaries of crafters and fiber artists. You have a great magazine and I wish you all the luck and good fortune there is for you and your staff. I would love to be a part of it if you need me. Actually, I have a degree in computer science which makes it even more important to use my left brain or right whichever is the creative side.
Sorry this is so long.........
Inspired and your fan forever.......

Hi Mark,
I just wanted to say that I love Quilter's Home. I have been waiting for a magazine like this for a long time! I love the fact that there are so many articles. I love a good pattern as much as the next quilter, but sometimes I just want to read quilting-related stuff and not have an entire magazine full of patterns!
Your humor and down-to-earthedness (is that a word?) are refreshing and I can't help but smile when I read your magazine.
I hope Quilter's Home becomes an enormous success and...when can I get a subscription!!!
Best wishes,

Dear Mark,
I just discovered your new magazine, Quilter's Home. I am usually on auto pilot when I buy my usual mags at Barnes and Noble and then I spotted this new one. I was curious and bought it. Last night I opened it and found it refreshing. I am a crazy quilter who used to be a traditional patchwork quilter until I became so bored of patterns and measuring precise pieces of fabrics. So much structure, it was just no fun anymore. Although I do keep my cotton stash for another patchwork quilt someday, I continue to find myself exploring new shops and sources for "fancies" to use in CQ.
I love how your magazine offers info on products and issues any type of "fabric manipulator" faces. I hope you continue your "blog" articles in each issue. I love blogs and finding new ones related to quilts of any kind are wonderful and enlightening.
I can't wait for the next issue and I am not finished with this one yet. I was wondering if you were going to have any crazy quilting in your magazine in the future? I am off to make the "Apple Cheddar Pizza" you offered in this issue. Sounds great! Many thanks to you and your staff for something new to look forward to.
Sincerely,
Pat Winter
I read with interest the "Hey Mark!" column concerning stash storage. I wanted to share with you a product that you may not be familiar with but that I discovered works VERY well for storing your fabrics. It's called a fabric storage sheet. You simply take your fabric as it comes off the bolt (already folded in half) and fold it in half again lengthwise. The end is inserted into slots on the fabric storage sheet and the fabric is wrapped around the storage sheet. The finished product looks like a small bolt of fabric and can be stored on shelves, in cabinets, in containers, in drawers or even hung. An added bonus was that they also take up less space. Now my fabrics are all wrapped and standing on shelves in a cabinet. I can clearly see what fabrics I have - no more lost in the pile or pulling the fabric I want (which was always on the bottom of the pile) and leaving the pile in a mess. The storage sheets can be ordered from www.polarnotions.com. Hope you enjoy learning about this product.

Hey Mark,
I want a subscription! The first time I found this little gem, I bought 4, and gave away 3. The friends that I gave them to l loved them too.
I know that other quilt mags, do stories on quilt shops, how about doing stories on the people behind quilting. The people who don't compete in quilt show, but give to the communities instead.
For example:
1.) Brenda Scott of Eureka, CA also a quilt shop owner, raised money for hand operated sewing machines, for ladies in the war zone.
2) I bought my first new sewing machine on my honeymoon 15 years ago at Village Sewing Center in Santa Rosa CA.. I remember the lady that sold me the machine, made sleeping bags for the homeless. I visited this shop 5 years ago and she was still doing items for the homeless.
We all know that quilt guilds have community quilts and preemie quilts, how about the people behind those quilts.
Just an idea. I LOVE Quilter's Home! I do have a hard time finding it. Keep up the good work and I look forward to the October issue.
Sincerely

Congrats on a wonderful magazine. I am from Coos county, Oregon and came across your premiere magazine at our local department store (Fred Meyer).which I bought of course.
Checked back til your second one came out and purchased that too btw I saw the second one on the magazine rack at Joanns and gave its praise to the manager and associates. Your humor is what I appreciate most. give me info with a laugh and I'm sold.
BTW I hope you didn't pay that channeler, pretty generic answers if ya ask me! :)
Googled today to see if you have to subscription sign ready to go. :( :( :(
Don't see it. but your site is great.
Again congrats! I love the magazine.. even got my cousin in Florida to hunt it down there and she likes it too!!! Of course!!1
Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Patti Cullen
I bought the august issue of Quilter's Home. Is it possible to subscribe to this magazine. I can't find it on the web site listed.
How do I get more of this?
Katie Griggs
I am a quilter browsing the news stand in a local big-box store in my town, looking for something "new" and not actually expecting to find it.
There were numerous quilting magazines amidst which I found Quilter's Home. WOW! This was the August issue and I still have not gotten entirely through it, I'm not going to miss a word. I had not heard of this new publication but noted a Premier Issue came out in June. I also noted a letter from Suzy of Illinois saying she found one on equilters.com - I stopped right there, got on-line and ordered one for myself. In the midst of the room makeover article I noted the Ketchup, Mustard & Mayo quilt pattern was available on your web site (free no-less). I just printed it off, can't wait to shop for necessary fabric and begin. . My granddaughter's apartment may not be as bleak as Tracy's. But it could use some brightening up! So - just wanted to say "Thank You" for everything.

But I personally think offering advice to quilters on what styles of clothing makes them look slimmer is pure dumb. After watching people walking around a quilt show for the past three days and then offering them slimming clothing advice is dorky and a waste of time. Make them laugh it off! Try this: figure out how to dress quilters in log cabins, drunkard's paths, grandmothers' flower gardens, cathedral windows, bear paws, etc.
Thanks again for such a marvelously new magazine!

Hey Mark,
I finally found a copy of the 2nd issue of Quilter's Home - everyone sold out so fast that I had to wait until Sept!!!
You've outdone yourself, and it is clear that this publication is a hit with quilters of all ages.
What other quilt mag can make you laugh, think and cry in the same issue. You go boyfriend!!!
Can't wait for number 3 - how about a tongue in cheek article about best wines to quilt by........

Hi Mark -
I found the new magazine at Barnes & Noble and, so far, it's been a terrific read. It's hard to believe it took this long to come out with this type of magazine. Quilters always want to find out about other quilters, tips, decorating, on and on and on. It would be really great if you would show some of the quilting studios of the well known quilters you showcase in your magazine. I love looking at other people's set ups! Keep up the good work and let us know when we can get subscriptions. This is definitely a MUST HAVE magazine.
Thank you

Dear Mark,
Your magazine is so inspiring and fun to read. Sometimes I feel very overwhelmed with some of the other publications....too many patterns and not enough time in the day. I get your humor and hope you continue publishing Quilter's Home. When can I subscribe?
Thanks,

Hi,
I absolutely love your magazine. It's refreshing, novel and picture fantastic.
Your front pages are to die for, and the table of contents for once easy to read and wrap around your brain.
The articles have been interesting, and I love that you'll talk of non quilt related stuff like the autograph analysis.
I also love the room do-over, and it makes more sense to plan a room around a quilt you've put your heart into then trying to find a quilt pattern and/or fabric around an existing décor.
You have done a fantastic job and I can't wait to be able to subscribe and have each issues delivered immediately off the press.
Thanks again to the whole creative staff,
Mrs. Line Kerr
Hey Mark,
I just have to say how fantastic your magazine is. I love the format, the fact that you talk directly to the reader, and of course your amazing sense of humor!! Never before have I read a quilting magazine from cover to cover and burst out laughing several times. Imagine the looks I received from family members when I read the August issue and laughed out loud. Of course that prompted me to read excerpts to them. You are so clever!!!

Hi Ya"ll,
I am a beginning quilter (at 60 years young) and just picked up the magazine. I really like it and have read it cover to cover and may store it in plastic to make sure it stays nice. Please may i get a subscription to this magazine.? You talked about everything i wanted to know and then some. As you can see i am not great at the computer, but you have to try things you are not used too.
You also had a question about owning a colored machine, WHY???? if we have two already we do not need anything else to clutter up the sewing room, and you did have a good bit about purging!!!:) probably be tired of the color in a few years anyway.
please let me know about the subscription thank you.
